How to Make My House Sell Fast! Pt. 5: Everything Else

When you list your house, not just your realtor can help you sell your house fast. There are always things you can do yourself to help out! There are all sorts of little tricks and tips that we’ll tell you about. They’re all easy things to do that may just be that extra push a buyer needed to fall in love with the place. We have a good list of tips and tricks that you can use for your own house so you can say I can make my house sell fast:

Tip 1: Let in Light

Pull up the shades, open the draperies and let in that natural light. Sunlight is always a good way to improve the way your house looks.

In addition, make sure your lightbulbs are working and are bright. You may want to install brighter bulbs for that extra light if you’re really thinking to yourself, “what can I do to make my house sell fast?”.

Tip 2: Open Up the House

Remember, space is important. Really think about the furniture you have in the main rooms and see if you can remove any of them to open up the house. Make sure your closets are spacious. Even organize your storage spaces, like attics or basements, so they have the most space. Even if you’re not making any more space, think about how you can create the appearance. Moving furniture around just to create a more flowing path to walk through could help. Think about opening any doors that lead to big rooms. Try that classic mirror trick.

Tip 3: The Right Smell

Of course, you’ll have to get rid of any wrong smells. Get rid of smoke smells, pet smells, any other smells… The other thing you can do is use air freshener. But be careful. Don’t overdue it. Too much air freshener can create a bad smell. It would be a good idea to lightly spray some around the house an hour or so before a showing. That way it can diffuse a bit.

Tip 4: Clean

Clean the rugs/carpets
Mop the floor
Wash windows (inside and outside)
Put away family photos
Hide/Remove any cords lying around
Remove any clutter on tables, counters, dressers, etc.
