Choosing the Right Home Size for You:
3-Bedroom House

Three bedroom houses are some of the most common homes for sale, and for good reason. They’re some of the most versatile homes, and they suit many families of different sizes with different needs.

If you’re looking to buy a house, there are advantages and disadvantages of each size home. So before looking for a three bedroom house for sale, weigh your options and decide whether it’s the right size for you.

Advantages

The biggest advantage of considering a 3 bedroom house for sale is its versatility. It’s the perfect size for both small and large families (as long as your kids are willing to share a room), and it also works for childless couples or singles who often have family or guests visit.

The second and third bedrooms also don’t have to be used as bedrooms—you could, for example, turn one bedroom into a home office and the other into a workout room, if you wanted.

And even if you don’t need three bedrooms right now, if you’re planning on expanding your family in a few years, you’ll know you’ll have enough space for everybody when the time comes.

Disadvantages

One disadvantage of the 3 bedroom house, however, is that it can be more expensive and time-consuming to care for.

If you don’t use all three of the bedrooms, you’ll just end up paying for and maintaining wasted space that you don’t need. If you only need a 2 bedroom house, there’s no point in paying for a third bedroom that goes unused.
